Asbestos Management Surveys

The purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, any suspected asbestos containing materials within the building and assess their individual risk. All accessible areas are inspected and / or presumed to contain asbestos. Representative samples are collected and analysed for the presence of asbestos.

Samples from each type of suspect material can be collected and analysed to confirm the judgement of the surveyor. Sampling normally takes place at the time of the survey.

All of our management surveys include the following:

  • Carrying out an asbestos survey in accordance with HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide
  • Reporting on identified asbestos-containing materials, indicating their location, condition, type and content
  • Providing appropriate comments and recommendations
  • Full survey report including material location photographs, analysis certification and asbestos register.
  • Limitations

Asbestos containing materials may be concealed in various locations and no comments can be made as to its presence in areas where it was not possible to gain access. For example, if it were necessary to create unsightly damage to the fabric of the building.

In the case of refurbishment / demolition project, survey work over and above that carried out during a management survey will be required.
